About Diane

Life can be confusing, unpredictable, and honestly pretty disappointing at times. Some days, it feels like you’re just trying to get through—unsure of the next step or feeling completely stuck. The truth is, no two journeys—mental, physical, emotional, or spiritual—look the same, and they almost never follow a straight line. Instead, they’re full of twists, turns, ups, downs, unexpected detours, and paths we never planned to be on.

Along the way, there are moments that change us, questions without easy answers, really good days, and really heavy ones. All of it shapes who we are and gives life meaning—even when it’s harder than we ever imagined it would be. My journey hasn’t been easy either, and my family and I have leaned on support along the way. That journey is what led me to the counseling field and gave me the compassion, understanding, and tools I now use to help others.

If you’re here, chances are you’re on a journey of your own—and it might be testing you in ways you’ve never faced before. Whether you’re dealing with addiction, depression, grief, trauma, or family challenges, you don’t have to do this alone. You deserve someone in your corner who truly gets it, listens with their whole heart, and helps you hold onto hope while moving toward a better tomorrow.

My name is Diane Kizziar, and I created Kizziar Counseling to help people get unstuck and find a healthier path forward. I’ve been where you are, and I can relate. I know the emotional weight of raising a child with special needs, and I’ve experienced the unimaginable heartbreak of losing a child suddenly. I’ve learned firsthand the power of doing the hard inner work—and the more my family and I experienced the life-changing impact of counseling, the clearer it became that this is what I’m meant to do: walk alongside others and offer hope and healing when it feels hard to find.

A little about me: I’m originally from Michigan, where I earned my undergraduate degree and began my professional career in the automotive industry. That’s also where I met my husband. Shortly after we married, we moved to North Dallas and never looked back. Over the years, we welcomed five children—four daughters and one son—and somehow navigated a three-year international assignment in Paris, homeschooling, Boy Scouts, and a wonderfully chaotic mix of activities that kept life interesting.

After raising our children, I earned my master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly heard, known, and seen. I’m deeply committed to helping people experience real, positive change—change that brings hope, clarity, and freedom from what’s holding them back. I often tell clients early on that while I love learning new counseling tools and approaches, no single method matters more than your comfort and growth. If something isn’t working for you, we’ll adjust—together.

For clients who desire it, I also integrate Christian faith into counseling, offering space to explore both emotional and spiritual healing. My faith shapes my values of grace, hope, and restoration, and I strive to reflect those in my work while always honoring each client’s preferences and needs.

More than just a counselor, I see myself as a partner in your growth. Every session is personalized to you and your goals, focused on understanding the root of your struggles and helping you move toward lasting change. Watching clients gain insight, find relief, and experience meaningful breakthroughs is what fuels my work.

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges on your own. If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing, I’m here to support you. Reach out today to schedule an appointment and begin your journey toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. I offer in-person sessions at my Carrollton office and virtual counseling throughout Texas—and I’d be honored to walk this road with you.
